Advanced Striking

Right foot out into a horse stance.

Phase 1A (Pokes)

  1. Right poke to the eyes (palm down) and left elbow strike.

  2. Left poke to the eyes (palm down) and right elbow strike.

  3. Right vertical poke to the solar plexus and left elbow strike.

  4. Left vertical poke to the solar plexus and right elbow strike.

  5. Right upward finger thrust to floating ribs (palm up) and left elbow strike.

  6. Left upward finger thrust to floating ribs (palm up) and right elbow strike.

  7. Right hand pokes over left shoulder (palm down) and left elbow strike.

  8. Left hand pokes over right shoulder (palm down) and right elbow strike.

  9. Bring both hands to the center palms facing towards you and elbows strike down on the attacker's arm.

  10. Poke with both hands to the throat

  11. Cross hands right in front of left and striking under the chin

  12. Left arm palm down over attackers arms, right elbow goes above left hand with right hand vertical in a crane, finger whip to the eyes. (Nail side of fingers striking the eyes)

  13. Right hand palm down over attackers arms, left elbow goes above right hand with left hand vertical in a crane, finger whip to the eyes. (Nail side of fingers striking the eyes)

  14. Left hand checks the attackers arms (palm facing down), right hand shoots out in a crane strike toward the attackers groin

  15. Right hand checks the attackers arms (palm facing down), left hand shoots out in a crane strike toward the attackers groin

  16. Right claw to the side and left poke over the shoulder (both hands on right side of the body)

  17. Rip across with both hands to the left and left elbow strike and right poke over the shoulder, then left hand claw to the side

  18. Right hand rips out and returns to right side elbow strike, left poke over the shoulder

  19. Left hand rips out to left side elbow strike

  20. Right claw to the face and rip to the eye

  21. Left claw to the face and rip to the eye

  22. Right downward palm to the bridge of the nose at the same time as left palm to the groin of the person behind you

  23. Left downward palm to the bridge of the nose at the same time as right palm to the groin of the person behind you.

  24. Right palm, fingers down, to the groin to the person in front of you at the same time as left palm to the groin of the person behind you

  25. Left palm, fingers down,  to the groin to the person in front of you at the same time as right palm to the groin of the person behind you

  26. Double inward block to the knee of the person in front of you, palms facing towards each other

  27. Double palm, fingers down, to the stomach, palms up

  28. Double upward palm to the face, palms up

  29. Reach across to both ears of the person in front (left hand on top) and rip out across the face with both hands back to elbow strikes

  30. Right side palm to the temple

  31. Right rip out the eye and elbow strike, left side palm to the right temple

  32. Left rip out to elbow strike


Phase 1B (Fists)

Repeat above 1-32 count with all fists instead of pokes



Phase 2

Right foot to attention and then step back out to horse again.

Next part should be done with tension and resistance.


  1. Cross block and double elbow strike

  2. Double downward punch

  3. Double upward punch, palms facing inward

  4. Cross hands and pull outward to double outward extended blocks

  5. Bring back inward to double inward block

  6. Cross block and double elbow strike

  7. Right palm to the chest and elbow strike

  8. Repeat of 7

  9. Left palm to the chest and elbow strike

  10. Repeat of 9

  11. Right hand palm down to attackers rising knee

  12. Repeat of 11

  13. Left hand palm down to attackers rising knee

  14. Repeat of 13

  15. Horse (head smash)


Back to normal speed for this next part

Phase 3


  1. Step forward right foot into a kenpo stance and double vertical chop to the chest

  2. Clear both hands outward to your side

  3. Hands come back together in the center forming a pyramid

  4. Bring hands palms together to prayer position

  5. Close right hand and cover with left

  6. Step right foot back to horse


  1. Step forward left foot into a kenpo stance and double vertical chop to the chest

  2. Clear both hands outward to your side

  3. Hands come back together in the center forming a pyramid

  4. Bring hands palms together to prayer position

  5. Close right hand and cover with left

  6. Step left foot back to horse


  1. Turn left 90 to a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Double palms to the chest

  3. Shift back to horse stance facing front of the room (hands together in head smash)


  1. Turn right 90 degrees to a right kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Double palms to the chest

  3. Shift back to horse stance facing front of the room (hands together in head smash)


  1. Right foot steps back to a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Double palms to the chest

  3. Twist 90 degrees to your right to horse stance (hands together in head smash)


  1. Move left foot over and turn 90 degrees to your right to face back of the room in a right kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Double palms to the chest

  3. Twist 90 degrees to your left to horse stance (hands together in head smash)


  1. Move right foot over and turn 90 degrees to your left to face front of the room in a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Double palms to the chest

  3. Right foot steps forward to a horse stance (hands together in head smash)


  1. Turn left 90 to a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Right poke to the eyes

  3. Shift back to horse stance facing front of the room (hands together in head smash)


  1. Turn right 90 degrees to a right kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Right poke to the eyes

  3. Shift back to horse stance facing front of the room (hands together in head smash)


  1. Right foot steps back to a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Right poke to the eyes

  3. Twist 90 degrees to your right to horse stance (hands together in head smash)


  1. Move left foot over and turn 90 degrees to your right to face back of the room in a right kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Right poke to the eyes

  3. Twist 90 degrees to your left to horse stance (hands together in head smash)


  1. Move right foot over and turn 90 degrees to your left to face front of the room in a left kenpo stance, double palms to rising knees

  2. Right poke to the eyes

  3. Right foot steps forward to a horse stance (hands together in head smash)
