

Kata 1 - Mountain Meets River
Attacker grabs your lapel with their left hand, right hand is up threatening to punch
1. Step back with the left foot into a side horse stance & break grab with downward motion of right arm, pull fist to the stomach.
2. Right hammer fist to the groin.
3. Shuffle back with left foot.
4. Right back fist to the temple, drop elbow.
Attacker swings right hand hook punch towards the head
5. Block right roundhouse punch with left hand at the wrist & right hand at the shoulder.
6. Right hammer fist to the groin, right vertical punch to the face.
7. Cover back with your right foot into a kenpo stance.
Attacker steps into a left foot kenpo stance and throws a right reverse punch
8. 45 with left foot into a horse stance & block right punch with left hand, right & left reverse punch to the ribs.
9. Right front kick to the groin & step forward into a kenpo stance, right vertical chop to back of the neck.
10. Cover back with your right foot into a kenpo stance.
Attacker advances in a left and right hook punch to the head
11. Step back with left foot into a kenpo stance, block left & right punch with right outward inward block, right vertical punch to the face.
12. Step forward with left foot into a cat stance, drop left hand to block the groin, right front kick to the groin & step out into a horse stance.
Attacker steps into a left foot kenpo stance & swings a right hand club towards the head
13.Step forward with right foot into a kenpo stance, block right club with left hand & grab wrist, right hand on the shoulder, right side chop to the neck, cover back with right foot into a kenpo stance.
Attacker steps into a left foot kenpo stance and right hand low knife stab to the gut
14. 45 with left foot into a horse stance & block right knife with left hand fingers down.
15. Right front kick to the groin & step forward into a kenpo stance, right vertical chop to back of the neck, cover back with right foot into a kenpo stance.
Attacker steps into a left foot kenpo stance and throws a right reverse punch
16. 45 with left foot into a horse stance & block right punch with left hand.
17. Step forward with right foot into a kenpo stance & right horizontal elbow strike to the ribs, cross right foot in front of left foot.
18. Step out with your left foot into a horse stance.
19. Cover back with your right foot into a kenpo stance.
Attacker steps into a left foot kenpo stance and throws a right reverse punch. At the end of 21 the attacker throws a right back kick.
20. 45 with left foot into a horse stance & block right punch with left hand.
21. Step forward with right foot into a kenpo stance & right vertical punch to the ribs, pivot on right foot to the left & step back with left foot into a kenpo stance right downward block.
22. Step forward with your left foot into a horse stance.
