

Number 1 Bo Kata
Begin with bo in right hand on white tape, grab top of the bo at black tape with left hand & turn toes outward.
Step back with left foot into a back stance, bring right hand up to second black tape, strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand resting on left hip, both hands on black tape.
Step forward with left foot into a horse stance & hold bo horizontal
Slide the bo forward striking to the stomach & slide the bo back with left hand so right hand is on second white tape, left arm is extended to the rear.
Slide the bo back striking to rear & forward with right hand.
Slide the bo forward striking to the stomach & slide the bo back with left hand so right hand is on second white tape, left arm is extended to the rear.
Twist left into a kenpo stance, slide left hand to second black tape & rotate the bo clockwise until vertical & block.
Twist right into a kenpo stance holding the bo vertical & block.
Slide left hand to top of bo to black tape, slide right hand up to second black tape, shift into a back stance & strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand resting on hip.
Rotate the bo clockwise.
Slide right hand up to second white tape, slide left hand up to second black tape, twist left into a kenpo stance & strike down to the rear at the leg, twist right into a kenpo stance & strike forward to the head.
Twist to the left front corner into a kenpo stance, rotate bo clockwise & block with bo vertical, white tape on bottom.
Slide right hand to bottom of bo to white tape, slide left hand down to second white tape, rotate bo counter clockwise 180 degrees raise left foot up into a crane stance & black bo against left side of left foot.
Strike down with the bo to the foot.
Slide left hand to second black tape & right hand to second white tape, rotate bo clockwise 180 degrees step forward with left foot to the left front corner into a kenpo stance & block with bo vertical.
Slide left hand up to top of bo to black tape, slide right hand up to second black tape, step forward with right foot, place left foot by right foot holding bo on right side of body, strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand on left hip.
Slide left hand up to top of bo black tape, slide right hand up to second black tape, step forward with right foot, place left foot by right foot holding bo on right side of body, strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand on left hip.
Slide left hand up to top of bo black tape, slide right hand up to second black tape, step forward with right foot, place left foot by right foot holding bo on right side of body, strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand on left hip.
Slide right hand up to the second white tape & left hand up to the second black tape, twist right to the right rear corner & step forward into a kenpo stance, block with the bo vertical.
Place left foot behind right foot & rotate the bo clockwise 180 degrees until vertical.
Slide left hand up to top of bo to black tape, bring right hand to second black tape, step back with left foot into a back stance, strike over head & downward to top of head with the bo, left hand on left hip.
Rotate the bo clockwise.
Slide right hand up to second white tape, slide left hand up to second black tape, twist left into a kenpo stance & strike down to the rear at the leg, twist right into a kenpo stance & strike forward to the head.
Twist left into a kenpo stance to the left front corner holding the bo vertical, white tape down.
Slide left hand up to top of bo black tape, slide right hand up to second black tape, twist left into a kenpo stance & strike down to the rear at the leg, twist right into a kenpo stance & strike forward to the head.
Rotate the bo clockwise.
Slide right hand up to second white tape, slide left hand up to second black tape, twist left into a kenpo stance & strike down to the rear at the leg, twist right into a kenpo stance & strike forward to the head.
Step to the right center with your right foot into a kenpo stance & rotate the bo clockwise 180 degrees until vertical, white tape down & block with the bo.
Slide right hand down to white tape, slide left hand down to second white tape, raise right foot up into a crane stance, rotate bo counter clockwise 180 degrees against the inside of the right foot & strike down with bo to the leg.
Step down with right foot into a back stance, slide left hand down to first black tape, slide right hand down to second black tape & strike down to top of head with the bo, left hand on left hip.
Slide right hand up to second white tape, slide left hand up to second black tape, shift forward into a kenpo stance & strike forward up to the groin & chin with rear end of bo, white tape on left shoulder.
Slide right hand to second black tape, slide left hand to first black tape, step back crossing right foot in front of left foot striking down to head with the bo horizontal, both hands on black tape, arms extended down.
Step out with left foot into a horse stance & strike to the left 90 degrees, bo held horizontal left hand on left hip.
Step back with right foot into a horse stance slide right hand to second white tape, bring the bo over head to the right side of the body & place left foot by right foot, bring left hand down to left side.
This kata begins and finishes in the same position.
