Wing Chun

Work in progress, this was never in the original training manual and below are Cat’s notes


  1. Shift toes out, heels out with feet pointing inward, then shoot hands down in front of you, left over right, hands open, fingers together, palms facing you.

  2. Raise hands up to eye level, turn palms inward, close fists and slowly pull back to elbow strikes.

  3. Left hand vertical punch to the face. Open fingers palm facing up, full rotation of fingers inward towards pinkie. Close the fist and pull back to elbow strike.

  4. Right hand vertical punch to the face. Open fingers palm facing up, full rotation of fingers inward towards pinkie. Close the fist and pull back to elbow strike.

  5. Left hand, open fingers palm facing upwards. Extend a slow poke to the throat. Full rotation of fingers inwards towards pinkie stopping with fingers pointing straight up and palm facing to the right. Slowly pull your hand back to the solar plexus.

  6. Change hand to sideways crane (fingers towards the right) Slowly extend the crane out. Full rotation at the end of the extension. Pull back your palm again. Repeat 2 more times.

  7. Left palm push to the right, palm to the face, shift palm facing up, full rotation, close to a fist and slowly pull back to elbow strike.

  8. Right hand, open fingers palm facing upwards. Extend a slow poke to the throat. Full rotation of fingers inwards towards pinkie stopping with fingers pointing straight up and palm facing to the right. Slowly pull your hand back to the solar plexus.

  9. Change hand to sideways crane (fingers towards the left) Slowly extend the crane out. Full rotation at the end of the extension. Pull back your palm again. Repeat 2 more times.

  10. Right palm push to the right, palm to the face, shift palm facing up, full rotation, close to a fist and slowly pull back to elbow strike.

  11. Left palm down to your side, right palm down to your side.

  12. Double palm low directly behind you.

  13. Double palm low directly in front of you.

  14. Raise hands up, palms downward, elbows out to each side, shoulder height, left arm over right arm.

  15. Extend to two outward chops (striking attacks on either side of you)

  16. Cross hands back in this time right over left.

  17. Drop elbows down arms vertical, palms facing each other

  18. Turn palms inward towards you.

  19. Turn palms outward and double palm to chest height.

  20. Double poke to the eyes

  21. Double palm to knee height in front of you

  22. Double crane to chin height

  23. Close hands to fist and pull back slowly to double elbow strikes

  24. Left hand palm strike to the right, palm strike to the front, full rotation, pull back fist into an elbow strike

  25. Right hand palm strike to the right, palm strike to the front, full rotation, pull back fist into an elbow strike

  26. Left hand palm open, inside outside block upward, palm facing you, rotating at the elbow then downward block (palm still open), rotate back to outward block. Rotate at the wrist and side palm to the chest, full rotation of the hand, close the fist and slowly pull back to elbow strike.

  27. Right hand palm open, inside outside block upward, palm facing you, rotating at the elbow then downward block (palm still open), rotate back to outward block. Rotate at the wrist and side palm to the chest, full rotation of the hand, close the fist and slowly pull back to elbow strike.

  28. Left hand reaches across the body, palm downward, bring elbows back in and palm upward, high palm (under the chin), full rotation of the hand and pull back fist to elbow strike

  29. Right hand reaches across the body, palm downward, bring elbows back in and palm upward, high palm (under the chin), full rotation of the hand and pull back fist to elbow strike

  30. Left palm open downward block, then right, left, right downard blacks the same way.

  31. Left punch to the face, then right, left, right, left, right. On the last right full rotation of the hand and pull back slowly to an elbow strike.

  32. Heels in, then toes in. Push palms downward next to you.
